Exciting news! There’s a whole load of new stuff to explore on this site – recently arrived from my neglected (and soon to be comatose) other blogs. More on the details in a moment, but first, some context:
Regular visitors to this site will have noticed that I recently upgraded to get rid of the horrible ads that had started to appear thanks to WordPress’ new (insane) approach to advertising. My tiny corner of the internet is so much better now it’s not clogged with ads desperately peddling bullshit that nobody needs or wants.
A big THANK YOU! to those who chipped in to help out with donations – much appreciated! 🙏
The influx of intrusive ads also provided the excuse I needed to step back and rethink what I was doing and why. Trying to keep three blogs going was doing my head in – it’s like plate spinning: sooner or later you start dropping plates and making a mess. So I decided to streamline and focus on what’s important.
My other blogs will now go into semi-retirement and I’ve transferred some of the main content onto this site. I’ll still be putting occasional posts on the other blogs if I stumble across something I want to share that doesn’t fit here.
You can explore what’s left on those sites here: Adventures of a Reluctant Mystic (for mystics) and Free Your Pen (for writers).
New Stuff!
Here’s a list of the new content from my mysticism blog with links so you can explore:
- Book Reviews – various short reviews of inspiring books
- Characteristics of Mysticism – 5 part series exploring mysticism using extracts from the classic text by Evelyn Underhill
- The Mystic Way – an epic 15 part series exploring the stages of the mystical life, again from Evelyn Underhill
- The Psychology of Awakening – 9 part series exploring the stages of growth in awakening and its problems, using Psychosynthesis and the egg diagram
- Spiritual Texts – 2 series on mystic texts: the Cloud of Unknowing, and Divine Revelations by Julian of Norwich
There’s not as much new stuff from my writing blog because most of it’s already on this site. But I’ve imported the competition lists and a few book reviews. Here are the links:
- Books for Writers – a handful of reviews
- The Creative Process – 7 part series for writers
- How to Write – 7 part series covering various aspects of writing
- Novel Competition List for 2019
- Resources and Advice for Writers
- Screenwriting Competition List for 2019
There’s so much on this site that many of the good posts get lost – unless you’re willing to do a lot of scrolling. So I’ve rearranged the archive pages to make it easier for you to find the main content and added a featured tag for a random bunch of posts that I think are worth reading. I’ll probably do more tweaking and fiddling over the coming weeks and months. Let me know if there’s anything you’d like me to improve and I’ll see what I can do.
The archives are in three sections: Writing, Astrology, and the main Archives which cover Buddhism, psychology, mysticism and all things spiritual. For those still using a computer, you’ll find links to the featured series and posts on the sidebar, along with my books. For everyone else, head to the menu where you’ll find links to the archive pages – or follow the links below:
Happy Exploring!
As to future content: Later in the year I’m planning something special – it’s too early to say exactly what form it will take but it’s part of my plan to sort myself out for my Chiron Return and come back to sanity and inner peace. The current working title is: Mystic Warrior Practice – stay tuned for more details…
Next week we’ll dive into the Saturn Pluto conjunction and try not to get too freaked out by the current madness of the world. In the meantime, enjoy the new stuff…!

🙂 It looks as though you are going to be very busy.
The featured tag should make things interesting on this blog of yours.
And, may you have yourself a wonderful week!
