Uranus Transits: 4th House

When Uranus transits the 4th House your need for freedom and change influences your home, family and roots. Uranus speeds things up and disrupts old patterns and represents your need for independence and change in this area.

When Uranus transits the 4th house it shakes the foundations of your life and can bring many destabilising as well as liberating changes to your home and family situation, your relationship to your parents and grandparents, your roots and ancestors, and your private life.

You may be inspired to move to a new home or to renovate and modernise your existing home. Or there may be changes to your family structure, such as new arrivals, children leaving home, divorce, providing care for loved ones, or moving an elderly relative into a home.

The changes at home could trigger memories from the past or new potentials for self-expression that come into your awareness. These insights may open up your sense of who you are and your place in the family. Repressed feelings can also be brought into the light, allowing you to reintegrate lost parts of your being.

The point of this transit is to free you from limiting situations and emotional patterns so you can express yourself with authenticity at home and with your family. By trusting your intuition and remaining flexible you can create space for yourself to grow as an independent individual who is no longer defined by the past.

Possibilities with Uranus transiting the 4th House:
  • Moving to a new home
  • Renovating and modernising your home
  • Insights into your childhood or past
  • New perspectives on your ancestors and roots
Watch out for:
  • Sudden loss of your home
  • Divorce
  • Family breakups or estrangements
  • Shocking revelations that change everything
My notes:

Uranus will transit my 4th house from 2027 to 2031, from age 57 to 61, and will coincide with my second Saturn return and Pluto crossing my ascendant. Should be an interesting time…!

However, Uranus was recently transiting my mum’s 4th house when my dad’s eldest sister suddenly burned down her flat and needed somewhere to stay. She moved in with my parents for several months while her flat was renovated, causing lots of disruption and emotional difficulties in the process. Uranus was moving towards being conjunct my mum’s Sun Moon conjunction in Taurus at the time.

When Uranus moved to exactly conjunct her Sun about a year later, a car hit the front of the house while Mars was also conjunct Uranus. The driver of the car was having an argument with somebody and lost control of the vehicle, smashing into the house and damaging the front wall and entrance.

The day of the accident, my parents spent the night in a flat across the road that just happened to be available while they waited for the damage to be assessed. The flat was full of high-tech gadgets and a huge home cinema screen that they enjoyed immensely.

The damage to their house wasn’t too bad so they were able to stay at home while the repairs were done. But it took many months of work with lots of disruption and noise and banging as the front of the building was replaced. Interestingly, the downstairs at the front of the house was my dad’s gallery space for his art and Uranus was transiting his 5th house at the time!

  1. Oh we are on a similar track. Uranus begins to transit my 4th in 2026, I’ll be 56. Pluto will be square Saturn from next year, then conjunct Sun & Venus!

  2. When Pluto crossed my ascendent… Very important people to me died. If this is connected to your fourth house… Then there’s a good chance a parent or other very close loved one may pass away. Astrology gives you a chance to prepare. All the best.
