March begins in Pisces season when the edges of everything dissolve and imagination expands, encouraging you to dive into the depths of your soul to transcend the limits of the mundane world. The visionary, dream-like reality creates illusion and confusion but also revelations and insights into the new world that’s waiting to be born in Aries. More on the meaning of Pisces here: Pisces Myths

This month the clustering of planets continues to shift from Pisces into Aries bringing an increased emphasis to these areas of your chart. Mars joins the Pisces pileup at the start of the month, a few days before Venus enters Aries where she runs into Saturn and Neptune. The Sun joins Venus at the equinox, a week before Venus leaves Aries and enters her own sign of Taurus at the end of the month.
But the month begins with a lunar eclipse at the Full Moon in Virgo on 3rd March with the Sun conjunct the north node and Mercury retrograde, and the Moon conjunct the south node and opposite Mercury retrograde. The Sun also trines Jupiter while the Moon sextiles him making a wedge. Mercury is also trine Jupiter and conjunct Venus, while Venus conjuncts Saturn and Neptune and sextiles Uranus.

This lunation introduces the main theme of the month which is bafflement. After the disruptions of February, March might feel frustrating and bewildering with too much imagination and escapism. You may spend a lot of time waiting for things to happen or struggle with disorganised actions that make things worse.
At worst, your energy could come out sideways as passive aggression or health issues. You may be confused about what you want, or what you want turns out to be unrealistic leading to disappointment. Much of this is down to Mars in Pisces but Mercury is also retrograde in Pisces sending your imagination into overdrive. This may be good for dreams, creativity and relaxation but unhelpful for getting stuff done.
Mercury spends all month in Pisces due to being retrograde and he reaches the halfway point in the cycle on 7th March at the inferior conjunction with the Sun. This is the moment to gather inspiration and ideas and make intentions for what you would like to do once Mercury goes direct. But be careful because you probably won’t be thinking clearly, even if you think you are!
Jupiter stations direct on 11th March in Cancer when it may become easier to make positive progress in this area of your life. Jupiter is trine Mercury retrograde in Pisces and this might help to clarify your situation. Or it could just amplify whatever you want to believe and make it easier to drift and dream.

On 19th March the New Moon in Pisces is conjunct Saturn and Neptune in Aries and sextile Uranus. Mercury retrograde is conjunct the north node and Mars in Pisces. This lunation continues the emphasis on imagination and creativity and it could provide a fertile new beginning in this part of your life – but only if you can make productive use of the grounding potential of Saturn in Aries to get real stuff done.
The Sun enters Aries the next day at the equinox just before Mercury stations direct in Pisces on 20th March. There are six planets in Aries by now, although Mars is still sloshing about in Pisces so you might struggle to gain traction or even a clear sense of direction.
When Mercury stations direct you can put your plans into action based on what you experienced during the retrograde cycle. The presence of the north node in Pisces makes this a karmic moment and it could be a powerful new beginning if you can get enough clarity in your actions. The trine from Jupiter provides an optimistic perspective and faith that things will work out.

A couple of days later the Sun conjuncts Neptune and then Saturn, marking the start of two new cycles. These transits may help to bring things to light that provoke a shift in your awareness and offer a new perspective on the goals and plans that you have been working towards in this area of your life. Another potential new beginning.
Finally, the Saturn Pluto sextile becomes exact on 28th March while Saturn is still conjunct the Sun and Neptune in Aries. This transit encourages you to transform the structures of your life so that you can express yourself in a more authentic way as an individual. Obviously how this affects you depends on where it falls in your chart and whether it contacts any of your natal placements.
Use this time to prepare for the coming square between Saturn and Pluto when the structures of your life could be severely stress tested. The Saturn Pluto square doesn’t go exact until 2028 but it starts to build in the summer of 2027. More on Saturn Pluto alignments here.
