April begins in Aries season when spring returns to the northern hemisphere as the sun gets stronger, boosting confidence and the desire to move and grow. Now is a time of new beginnings and taking the initiative as the creative life force ignites passion and a love of adventure on a quest for the future. More on the meaning of Aries here: Aries Myths

This month the clustering of planets continues to shift from Pisces into Aries bringing an increased emphasis to these areas of your chart. The Sun is in Aries with Saturn, Neptune and Chiron, while Mercury and Mars are in Pisces, and Venus is in Taurus. Mars enters Aries in the 2nd week, followed by Mercury mid-month when the Moon also joins them, making 7 planets in Aries in total. If this stellium contacts your chart, you’ll certainly know about it!
On 2nd April the Full Moon in Libra sees the Sun in Aries conjunct Saturn opposite the Moon in Libra and square Jupiter in a T-square. The Moon also trines Pluto. This lunation is about balancing your needs with those of others while Jupiter provides optimism and a willingness to compromise. You can use the steadiness of Saturn to focus on productive goals and channel your energy into achieving something meaningful to you and others.

Mercury is now moving direct again so clarity may be returning after the retrograde of last month. The trine from Jupiter boosts your imagination and brings inspiring dreams making this a good time to explore creative ideas or transcendent spiritual practices that open your mind and heart.
Mars is still swimming in deep waters in Pisces and not at his best. This may become more of a problem as he approaches Neptune and the conjunction peaks on 13th April. Your energy levels could suffer if this contacts your chart, or you may feel confused about what you’re doing or what you want. But you can also use this period to channel your passions into creative and spiritual work.
On 17th April the New Moon in Aries packs a lot of energy into one small area with 2 stelliums. Mercury, Mars, Saturn and Neptune are tightly packed in the first decan, while the lunation is at the end of the sign conjunct Chiron and square Pluto. This lunation is about taking independent action to achieve your goals and could provide a powerful new beginning in this area of your chart.

This intense focus on Aries provides a massive boost in energy and an increased desire to act independently and get stuff done. How this affects you will depend on where it impacts your chart – the house and any placements that it contacts. Try to find something productive to do with this energy or it could come out sideways in stupid arguments or mishaps or general craziness.
Mercury conjuncts Neptune the same day as the lunation which could increase confusion or the tendency to dissemble or lie. Be careful what you believe during the days around this time and maybe wait a few days before committing to anything important.
Clarity should increase as Mars and Mercury approach Saturn by 20th April when they’re also exactly conjunct each other. This is a good time for being productive and making decisions that you can act on and get real. The Sun also enters Taurus the same day, supporting practical goals and steady progress.
Meanwhile, Venus is moving towards her conjunction with Uranus in Taurus before they both go into Gemini. Venus enters Gemini on 24th and Uranus follows on 26th April bringing potential disruption to your finances and relationships, as well as an increase in the speed of communication and daily life.
Uranus will be in Gemini for the next 6 years bringing revolutionary changes to the way we communicate and share information, news and media, trade, transport, education, and more. See Uranus in Gemini posts for details here. Uranus is square the nodes as he changes signs, making this a potentially karmic moment, especially if it hits your chart directly. More on Uranus square the nodes here.

Over the last couple of years we’ve been slowly shifting from feminine earth/water signs to masculine fire/air signs. When Uranus enters Gemini that shift will finally be complete and the pace of change could really accelerate, as well as the sheer amount of information coming at you day to day. It’s already difficult to tell what’s real and what isn’t, what’s true and what’s not, and this will only get harder as the speed of change increases.
The emphasis on fire and air signs stays with us until the early 2030s when Uranus enters Cancer. It’ll hot up even more when Jupiter also enters these signs, as he does at the end of June this year when he enters Leo.
The energy during this time will be more dynamic and fast-moving so you’ll need to take time to relax and learn how to pace yourself – or suffer the consequences. Remember to consciously slow down so you can think things through and don’t allow yourself to be rushed into doing anything with a sense of urgency.
Maintaining a strong inner connection to your deeper Self or soul will help you to stay on the path that’s right for you and not get sidetracked by the chaos and distraction around you. Look for practices that keep you grounded and centred and find ways to channel any excess energy into productive activity so you don’t waste it spinning your wheels.
