When Neptune transits natal Venus your need for transcendence and imagination influences your values, relationships and finances. Neptune inspires new dreams and dissolves old structures and represents your need to spiritualise and refine this area of your life.

When Neptune transits natal Venus you may experience inspiration and confusion with your relationships, finances and values, as well as what you find beautiful and how you express your creativity. Neptune dissolves your boundaries and increases your desire to merge or lose yourself in another person or an experience of love.
You may feel romantic and dreamy and fantasise about the perfect relationship, and could even meet your ideal partner or soul mate. You may form relationships with Neptunian people, such as someone who is highly creative or spiritual, or a sensitive dreamer, musician or artist, or an addict or somebody mysterious or evasive.
Neptune reveals your illusions about your relationships and your expectations of love by complicating your interactions with others. You may idealise others or not see them clearly and fall in love with a fantasy, the image you’re projecting onto the person. Disillusionment then allows you to get to know the real person and develop a relationship based on reality rather than an ideal.
Hard aspects to Venus (conjunction, square and opposition) could be more challenging and you may be prone to deceptive behaviour, such as affairs, romance scams, manipulation, and lying. Others may deceive you into seeing them a certain way or you could deceive yourself by believing what you want to believe, or you could fall in love with somebody ‘unsuitable’ or unavailable.
You may need to make sacrifices in your relationships, perhaps by adjusting to your partner’s needs or changing circumstances. This provides an opportunity to learn about love from a different perspective and open your heart to a wider understanding of compassion and selfless love. You could also experience the loss of a partner due to divorce, separation or death.
Aside from relationships, your senses may be heightened and you can appreciate beauty in all its forms: through the arts and music, or by exploring your own creativity, or communing with nature. You may have spiritual experiences of oneness which open your heart to unconditional love and faith that you can then share with others.
This transit could also influence your finances and there could be losses or confusion over money, or an improvement in your situation that changes your values or how you see reality. Your values may become less materialistic and more spiritual as you realise that money won’t make you happy. You can develop greater faith in relation to your intrinsic self-worth by turning inwards and realigning with your divine nature.

My Notes:
None of my Neptune transits to Venus have involved romantic relationships. The first was the sextile in 1980-81, from age 9 to 11, when Neptune was in Sagittarius in my 10th house. This coincided with the start of my love affair with music which slowly took over my entire life.
Neptune then transited square my natal Venus in 1994-95, from age 23 to 25, when Neptune was in Capricorn in my 12th house and trine natal Saturn at the same time. This coincided with when I was doing counselling training and then returned to college to study music production.
The counselling training opened my heart to people who had suffered and were struggling with alcohol and drug addiction. I formed a friendship with one particular service user and spent a lot of time listening to his life story and chatting about music.
He tended to idealise me somewhat – all I did was listen and encourage him to focus on the things he loved, like music. He was determined to kill himself. I guess I saw a lot of myself in him so we were probably both projecting. I kept him alive for a few months and he helped me to see myself as stronger after having just been through my own breakdown a couple of years before.
I discovered the difference it can make to somebody simply listening to them talk without judging them. This is called ‘unconditional positive regard’ in counselling, a nasty clinical term for empathy and compassion. This experience gave me a wider perspective on my own self-worth and by the end of the transit I had returned to college to make my dream of becoming a sound engineer real.
Neptune transited trine my natal Venus in 2007-9, from age 36 to 38, when Neptune was in Aquarius in my 1st house and square natal Saturn at the same time. This coincided with when I was working as a sound engineer recording a talking newspaper for the local council while writing screenplays in my spare time.
At the start of the transit I attended a screenwriting course where I wrote an early draft of a script that went on to win a competition in 2008 when Saturn transited conjunct my natal Sun.
The prize involved working with a script editor to improve three drafts of the screenplay. That meant getting lots of feedback and having to incorporate other perspectives and ideas into my work and learning how to compromise without undermining my creative vision. I learnt an enormous amount about writing and storytelling and my identity as a writer started to form.
