Jupiter enters Cancer on 9th June 2025 and stays there for a year until 30th June 2026 when he goes into Leo. This takes us from expansion and growth by connecting with others through the mind and communication in Gemini to an emotional connection that will feel more personal.

Jupiter in Cancer encourages you to grow and expand through your home and family and emotional life in relation to the Cancer area of your chart. You may want to improve your home by redecorating to make it more comfortable or build an extension to give you more space, or move to a better location, somewhere you can grow into the future. It could be a good time to invest in real estate or land or to buy a new home, depending on other transits to your chart.
Any problems that you’ve been having at home can be resolved as Jupiter expands your perception and brings a more positive and optimistic approach. Family may become more important and you may want to spend more time at home caring for relatives and nurturing your connection with them. You could even literally expand your family by having a child, or perhaps get involved with home schooling.
Opportunities to improve your life could come via family members, including parents and extended family or close friends. You may feel more generous towards your family and can improve your relationships and receive or offer support where needed. This may include exploring your childhood or family history and ancestors, and you may be able to improve the present by changing your perspective of the past.
You may feel more nostalgic and have a desire to increase your feelings of safety and security, especially at home. You can express this by nurturing and caring for others and enjoying the comforts of home and family. This could mean your immediate family as well as your tribe and you may want to welcome friends into your home, perhaps for dinner parties where you can cook your favourite dishes and share your enjoyment of life.
As well as spending more time at home, you may want to indulge in the things that make you feel nurtured and loved. However, you may need to watch for overindulgence in food and drink, especially if you don’t want to put on weight. It could be a good time for a holiday but you might decide to stay closer to home, perhaps for a staycation or even just to explore your own town or city in a new way.
You may experience a greater yearning to give birth to something meaningful by expressing your imagination and creativity. You can nurture your own creative gifts as well as encouraging the creativity of others. This transit is also good for working with the public in some way as you can be more responsive to others’ needs. You can tune into the public mood and appeal to people’s feelings and need for reassurance and safety.

Jupiter in Cancer also expands your feelings and intuition and you may find it easier to connect with others on an instinctive level. You may feel more emotional and expressive, depending on your chart and the transits that Jupiter makes to your natal planets. It could be a good time to improve your relationship to yourself and connect with your deeper needs for security and stability by turning inwards to find peace and contentment from within.
However, this tendency to be more emotional than usual could make you prone to mood swings and irrational outbursts. You may feel more sensitive to the feelings of others and this could make you too sensitive and reactive, especially when under stress. You may overindulge your feelings and struggle with a lack of clear boundaries as your emotions spill out all over the place.
Or you could withdraw into your shell to hide when you feel hurt and sulk rather than deal with the situation directly. Your desire for safety could also make you risk-averse and resistant to change because you want to cling to the past and the security it seems to offer. You could also become too protective of others with a tendency to be possessive or smothering and may need to remember that you don’t have to take care of everyone all the time.
If you find yourself reacting in this overblown way you may need to take some time out to explore why you’re getting emotionally triggered. Jupiter is exulted in Cancer so you should be able to learn from your interactions with others and grow in emotional intelligence. You can develop wisdom by exploring your feelings and emotions, and learn to have more faith in your instinctive approach to life rather than just blindly reacting.
The exultation of Jupiter in Cancer seems strange because Jupiter isn’t particularly sensitive and can bounce over other people’s feelings (and yours). But he also rules Pisces so he does have a sensitive side in there somewhere!
Jupiter is exalted in Cancer because his energy works best with a combination of growth and nurturing. Jupiter expands life and Cancer relates to birth and nurturing, and to grow something you need to nurture and take care of it. Cancer gives Jupiter greater sensitivity to the feelings of others and reduces some of the bombast, while Jupiter opens up Cancer and makes the feelings more expansive. In Exploring Jupiter, Stephen Arroyo says:
“Jupiter’s exultation in Cancer shows that Jupiter is expressed best if combined with empathy and consideration for others. Jupiterian people need to cultivate ‘down-home’ abilities to communicate with others on an emotional level.”
Jupiter grows in Cancer by expanding your circle of concern beyond your immediate family so you can see the whole of humanity as family. This makes this transit ideal for spiritual growth because it combines faith, optimism and generosity with empathy and sensitivity to others’ feelings.
Regardless how you respond to this transit on a personal level, we may see a general increase in the desire for traditional or family values. This transit will boost the growth in nationalism and national pride that is being fed by Saturn and Neptune in Aries, and reinforce the desire for security and a sense of belonging at home. Your feelings about your country of origin and roots may be stirred – for good or ill – as well as a desire for emotional freedom within traditional structures.
To get a feel for how Jupiter in Cancer may work, you can look back to what happened during previous transits. The last three times were from:
- 26th June 2013 to 16th July 2014
- 13th July 2001 to 1st August 2002
- 31st July 1989 to 18th August 1990
For example, Cancer is in my 6th house and the end of my 5th house so should work through areas like creativity, romance, health, work and routines. During the 1989–90 transit I was enjoying my summer break before college and recording songs with a friend in a studio and going on holiday with my boyfriend. Jupiter entered my 6th house in June 1990 by which time I was at college and settling into a new routine that expanded my life.
During the 2001–02 transit I was working at a new job that started just before this transit and feeling frustrated at the lack of creativity that made me drink too much. My health wasn’t good because I was overindulging and it gave me gut issues which didn’t improve until I made changes under other transits that happened later. My fault for indulging!
During the 2013–14 transit I was doing a lot of writing and sending my first novel to agents and publishers. It didn’t go well and the frustration continued as Jupiter entered my 6th house in August 2013 and I decided to self-publish. The book came out before the end of this transit in January 2014.
You can make the most of this transit by preparing in advance using the Jupiter Transits Workbook which is available here! Depending on how the nationalism goes ( sweating-it emoji ) … as a Crab, this is sounding good to me. I reckon I am at last in a place where i could use a transit like this. Seeing the ‘whole of humanity as family’ is going in the right direction isnt it . Your accounts of what happened to you under transits is always helpful.
