Last time we explored the history of Saturn Neptune conjunctions in Aries to get a feel for how they work. The current conjunction doesn’t become exact until 20th February 2026 but it gets close this year. It enters an 8-degree orb on 3rd March 2025 and gets to within 12 minutes of exact on 15th July 2025. After the exact aspect in February 2026 it remains in orb for another year until February 2027, so the whole thing lasts about 2 years.

We’ve been swimming in the deep waters of Pisces with both Saturn and Neptune for a while. Neptune entered Pisces in 2011 and Saturn joined him in March 2023. Structures and established authorities have been pre-softened by this undermining influence. The cracks have opened up and the water has seeped in. When the conjunction arrives in Aries, we may find that the building can no longer stand and we run face first into a new reality.

The Saturn Neptune conjunction will bring us face to face with the consequences of past failures and weaknesses. It continues the process of revealing the incompetence and neglect of authorities and organisations while inspiring a new way forward. The seeds of a new approach will be found in the chaos of the dissolution and ending of the old world.

This conjunction marks the end of the cycle that began in 1989 with Saturn and Neptune also conjunct Uranus in Capricorn. That year the Berlin Wall fell and the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991 as many nations reclaimed their independence from Russia. In The Saturn Neptune Cycle and the Dream of Reality we saw how the Chernobyl disaster may have foreshadowed this collapse when the nuclear power plant in Ukraine exploded.

That event happened in 1986 during the semi-sextile between Saturn and Neptune at the end of the previous cycle. So maybe we can look at what happened during the recent semi-sextile in 2022–23 for similar clues. The aspect was in orb between 24th March to the end of July 2022 and was exact on 16th and 30th May. It returned into orb on 12th December 2022 and was exact on 6th January, fading out by the end of January 2023.

This period coincided with when SOFR (secured overnight interest rate) came into force in March 2022, removing the Fed from LIBOR and freeing the US from the rigged financial system that was controlled by the UK. The Fed started to raise interest rates and the UK and EU suddenly couldn’t afford to pay their debts creating multiple crises that have only got worse with time.

Meanwhile in February 2022 Russia invaded Ukraine in a special military operation after years of NATO not honouring their agreements. Sanctions were placed against Russia by the UK, EU and other countries, removing Russia from the SWIFT payment system and banning or restricting the use of Russian oil and gas. Prices in the UK and EU continued to rise and Russia failed to collapse (which had been the plan).

Other significant events include:

• Global food prices rose to their highest levels since 1990 in April 2022, with wheat rising almost 20%.
• Elon Musk bought Twitter (X) in October 2022 but the agreement for the sale was made in April 2022. He’s now busy using his platform to upset everyone and sow chaos.
• Finland and Sweden applied to join NATO in May 2022.
• Liz Truss became PM in the UK in September 2022 and the next day Queen Elizabeth II died and Charles became ‘King’. There was a run on the pound and we got another PM (Sunak) who didn’t know what he was doing in October 2022. (Out of orb but relevant fallout)
• Benjamin Netanyahu became PM of Israel for the 3rd time in December 2022 paving the way for what we’re seeing in that region now.
• A banking crisis in American regional banks early in 2023 saw the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank and First Republic Bank.
• Brazil and China agreed to trade in their own currencies in March 2023 and stopped using the dollar. (Out of orb but relevant fallout)

There’s probably a bunch of other stuff too, especially if you increase the orb, but I can’t list it all! Add your examples in the comments below.

This is all happening within the context of longer cycles. We’ve just entered the Air era of Jupiter Saturn conjunctions which means the old Earth structures are crumbling and falling apart. The Saturn Neptune conjunction also happens at the midpoint of the mini triangle between Uranus and Pluto marking the end of a worldview that goes back to the 1500s. More on that here.

That means we’ve come to the end of the dominance of the Western empires that have been running things for centuries in a top-down hierarchical fashion that simply no longer works in the new world. Hence its rickety nature.

When the Saturn Neptune conjunction arrives some of these structures may collapse, along with the beliefs and ideals that are now failing. It could represent a collective wake-up call as our delusions and mad dreams finally hit the wall and come unravelled. This could create mass disillusionment and depression but also a wider awakening to reality and a desire for truth and justice.

Here’s a summary of the kinds of events seen during Saturn Neptune alignments and what we might expect to experience:

• Collapse of structures and beliefs put in place by the old order (Saturn)
• Collapse of fake realities and narratives
• Collapse of physical infrastructure and systems that have been weakened or poorly maintained
• Misuse of socialist/communist ideas to crush people rather than liberate them
• Conflict between religion and secular beliefs, religion vs science
• Criticism and repression of spirituality, religions, or esoteric ideas
• Unrealistic expectations, utopian ideas, dreams, or beliefs
• Loss of confidence and disillusionment with established structures or events
• Loss or death of a dream, failure of ideals and forced to face reality
• Collective depression, feelings of defeat, loss and grief
• Loss of faith or dark night of the soul
• Addiction, escapism, alcoholism, drug use and abuse
• Poisoning, pollution, drug scandals, and epidemics of disease
• Natural disasters, earthquakes, and flooding

More positively:

• Idealistic movements that inspire and uplift
• Renewal of faith, visionary spirituality and mysticism
• Revelation of truth, seeing through illusion and unmasking deception
• Helping the disenfranchised, compassion for those who suffer
• Political ideologies to help the disenfranchised, fighting for workers’ rights and the underdog
• Inspirational art, culture, music and film that embodies romanticism and transcendence

Adding Aries to the mix we could see the following possibilities:

• Idealising heroes and heroism, and more opportunities to be heroic
• Idealising leaders, or a leader who is seen as a redeemer or messiah figure
• Weak or young leaders, or inexperienced or deluded leaders
• Loss of belief in leaders, disillusionment with politics
• Narrative collapse, fighting over different stories or views of reality
• Religious war or idealising war or disillusionment with war
• Religious persecution, a new crusade
• Boundary disagreements between and within countries, immigration issues
• Betrayal, backstabbing, and mutiny
• Taking revenge on political enemies
• Taking advantage of real or perceived weakness
• Being held to account for previous actions
• Contentious social reforms and fighting for citizen’s rights
• Fighting for independence, sovereignty of countries and individuals
• New religions or religious ideas or movements

The exact conjunction of Saturn and Neptune in February 2026 is at 0° Aries, right on the Aries point of the spring equinox. That gives it great power so it should have far-reaching effects around the world. The close conjunction in the summer of 2025 is at 1-2° Aries which is still close enough to the Aries point to be significant.

The conjunctions fall on the IC of the US chart which could indicate profound changes that reach right down to the roots of the country. The founding myth of America of rugged individualism may be highlighted and idealised even more. Or the role the US plays in the world may change as the power map is redrawn and we move into a multipolar world. Maurice Fernandez has a great post that explores this here.

In the UK chart the conjunctions fall in its 6th house opposite the 12th house Uranus. This could indicate something hidden suddenly coming to light, a dark secret exposed (on top of what we already have!), or shocks in the health service, economy and jobs market. The UK economy is already imploding with rising interest rates and we appear to be on the brink of a sovereign debt crisis (as I write in January). Whatever happens, this is a karmic moment where the consequences of our past actions return to haunt us, demanding change – not just in what we do but in how we think and what we believe. We may experience a global spiritual crisis that leads to a rebirth or new beginning. But that new beginning won’t arrive immediately and it won’t be easy.

In my 2021 post I mentioned the French astrologer Andre Barbault who said that 2026 would be the start of a period of growth and “the fulfilment of a new age of humanity.” He also talked of:

“a significant rise in the standard of living of the underprivileged, of a victory over misery won in an unprecedented solidarity.”

Which sounds lovely but is hopelessly idealistic and reminds me of a joke about asking for directions to get somewhere in Ireland and being told:

“Well, I wouldn’t start from here.”

Many already feel disillusioned and exhausted by the lies and false narratives of the current system. Many are hoping for a return to truth and justice for those who have been harmed by the relentless dehumanised fuckery of late-stage capitalism – a Nuremberg moment, or what I call a Michael Clayton moment:

Nemesis may finally arrive to deal with the unethical behaviour that too many people have been enjoying. But that may be wishful thinking.

The system has been pushed to breaking point in order to create the conditions for a ‘Reset’. The question is: Whose reset are we going to get? The one coming from the so-called ‘elites’, or the one coming from the people?

It’s no good just hoping for change. The point of this transit is that it happens in Aries. That means what you do as an individual is what matters. If you want a positive new beginning or a cultural renaissance you will have to create it yourself. This transit represents a test of faith and integrity, one that demands a willingness to take responsibility and act to make a difference in the world.

It’s time to be the change!
