May begins in Taurus season when you can focus on growth and fertility by enjoying the good things of life and reconnecting with your body and the earth. You can create a container for inspiration and creativity by staying grounded in the present moment, bringing ideas down to earth and putting them into practice and refining your values and self-worth. More on the meaning of Taurus here: Taurus Myths

The massive stellium in Aries is still with us at the start of May but it begins to loosen up and spread out by the end of the month. The Sun begins the month in Taurus, while Mercury and Mars are in Aries with Saturn, Neptune and Chiron, and Venus is in Gemini with Uranus.
Mercury enters Taurus early in the month and conjuncts the Sun, and then enters Gemini just after the New Moon in Taurus at mid-month. Mars enters Taurus at mid-month and then Venus enters Cancer and joins Jupiter, and the Sun enters Gemini a few days later. The Venus Jupiter conjunction doesn’t arrive until early in June – definitely something to look forward to.
There are three lunations this month, starting with the Full Moon in Scorpio on 1st May which is in a T-square with Pluto, while the Moon also trines Jupiter. This is an intense and emotionally volatile time that could bring passionate feelings to the surface or a desire to explore things in greater depth. Venus is feeling chatty and sociable in Gemini and is supported by Saturn which is good for making connections and sorting out your finances.

A few days later Pluto stations retrograde at 5° Aquarius while square Mercury and Chiron. If this station happens close to any of your natal placements you may notice an increase in intensity of the energies involved. You might need to go deeper into any issues that you’ve been grappling with in this area and this should help you to find a new path forward once Pluto stations direct again in October.
On 16th May the New Moon in Taurus is conjunct Mercury in Taurus and Uranus in Gemini, and sextile Jupiter. Mercury is also sextile Neptune and trine Pluto, and the Mars Pluto square is starting to build. This lunation focuses on your need for stability and dealing with practical matters but you can expect Uranus to disrupt your plans.
You may feel restless and want to make changes and can use this time to break free of old patterns and habits and discover new perspectives that could create an exciting new beginning. The Taurus energy helps to keep things grounded and you can give your ideas real substance. You could experience a surprising shift or breakthrough that changes the direction of your life in a positive way.
Mercury enters Gemini the next day so communication will speed up and your mind could become more scattered. You’ll need to find something to channel this extra mental energy into or you could feel uncomfortable or have difficulty relaxing, but it depends on what you’re normally like. Mars enters Taurus on 18th and that may help to steady your energy and keep you focused on practical goals.

This big stellium with Uranus happens at the same time as the Mars Pluto square starts to build from mid-month. The potential for breakthroughs and/or disruption will continue to be triggered as the Moon moves past the Sun and conjuncts Mercury and then Uranus on 17th May. Mercury also enters Gemini on 17th and conjuncts Uranus on 18th, while the Sun enters Gemini on 21st and conjuncts Uranus on 22nd.
These days could be filled with sudden detours and surprising twists that either annoy or liberate you, or a mixture of both. Try to stay flexible and open to new possibilities but also remember to stay grounded in your body so you don’t get too discombobulated. This will be harder once the Sun enters Gemini leaving only Mars in Taurus to keep you anchored to the ground.
The Mars Pluto square becomes exact on 26th May and increases the potential for power struggles and fights, intensifying emotions and pushing things to extremes. The Moon will trigger this square from early Leo around the 21st May when it opposes Pluto and squares Mars, and from early Scorpio around the 28th when it opposes Mars and squares Pluto. Mars being in Taurus may help to keep the intensity contained and you can use this energy to transform whatever area of your life it touches.
On 31st May the Full Moon in Sagittarius continues the potential for disruption with the Sun conjunct Uranus and the Moon opposite. The Moon also trines Saturn and Neptune and sextiles Pluto, while the Sun sextiles Saturn and Neptune and trines Pluto. This is a restless lunation with a strong need for communication and freedom and you may want to experiment or go on an adventure.
If you’re looking for adventure and excitement, make sure it’s meaningful to you and not just doing stuff for the sake of it. Saturn helps to keep things steady and focused on practical goals so you can achieve something real and not just spin your wheels. The Saturn Neptune conjunction is starting to move out of orb as Saturn pulls ahead into Aries on his own, making it easier to see your way forward more clearly.

The various planetary energies are more spread out now which eases the pressure, especially for those who have been getting hit by all the stelliums over the last few months.
