The Saturn Neptune conjunction in Aries 2025–26

Last time we explored the wider possibilities for the Saturn Neptune conjunction that becomes exact on 20th February 2026. This year the planets enter an 8-degree orb on 3rd March and get incredibly close to exact in the summer, reaching 12 minutes from exact on 15th July 2025 at 1–2° Aries. They remain close for the rest of the year and into 2026 and the entire transit lasts until February 2027.

The Saturn Neptune conjunction brings together two very different archetypes that tend to work against each other. Saturn wants to build strong structures and make things real, while Neptune wants to dissolve structures and make things mysterious and vague. But they can also support each other. Saturn helps to give form to the imagination and visions of Neptune, while Neptune inspires hope and faith in something worth working hard for.

We’ve actually been living with this complex archetypal situation ever since Saturn entered Pisces in 2023. But with Neptune also in Pisces things have been extra confusing and swampy. Pisces represents the collective where the individual is dissolved in the ocean of consciousness and Saturn has had a hard time finding solid ground.

That will change when Saturn and Neptune enter Aries. The focus will shift back to the individual and clarity may return. However, it may take a little while for the fog to clear while Saturn remains close to Neptune until early in 2027.

This transit will manifest through the Aries part of your chart where your beliefs about reality will be tested. You may be challenged to find a balance between your need for structure and boundaries and your need for transcendence and imagination. By working with these energies you can create a new beginning in this area and let go of situations, ideas and beliefs that no longer work or aren’t based in reality.

This raises the question: What is reality? Neptune and Saturn have different answers, or rather different approaches.

Neptunian reality is mystical and can’t be easily communicated or understood. It connects you to a transcendent view of reality which is highly subjective and true on its own terms but can also be misleading and illusory making it difficult to navigate without self-deception.

Saturnian reality is what we normally think of as being ‘real’, i.e. the structures and boundaries of the material world. But it also refers to the structures of society, like politics, economics, and beliefs, that are less obvious because you can’t touch them so you don’t realise how much you’re controlled by them.

These internal structures are only real because you and everybody else believe in them. On a deeper level they’re just as illusory as some Neptunian realities. And some Neptune visions of Ultimate Reality feel more real than the so-called ‘real world.’ It’s all highly confusing!

Saturn Neptune conjunction in July 2025

As Saturn moves closer to Neptune it forces Neptune to become more defined and focused in reality. That often results in disillusionment when you wake up and realise how far from the truth you’ve wandered. Obviously, this depends on how in touch with reality you’ve been until now – and how you define reality!

The further away from reality you are, the harder this transit will hit. For some it may be a sudden slap in the face or a bucket of cold water over the head that plunges you into a new reality. Or there could be a slow rising dread and sense of overwhelming failure with the realisation of what’s been done and lost as a result.

There could be little awakenings popping off all over the place as people emerge from the dreams and delusions that they’ve been entertaining for the last several years, maybe longer. This could be liberating and inspiring as well as depressing and disheartening. But as old dreams and ideals collapse, new ones can be found that are better aligned with who you are and the life you want to create.

Since the conjunction happens in Aries it provides the perfect opportunity to transform your identity as an individual by exploring the question: Who am I? You can let go of worn out or fake identities and discover new passions and ways of being that are more authentic.

To do this you may need to confront your fears and doubts and overcome areas where your confidence has been undermined. You may also have issues with your health due to a lack of vitality or energy, or problems with your immune system or difficulty sleeping. These may be more likely if you already struggle with your health and this transit could be a good time to finally get to grips with the changes you need to make so you can heal.

Some may continue denying reality even while their world collapses around them. You may be tempted to avoid change by escaping into addictions or fantasies that make you feel good. But Saturn probably won’t let you get away with it for long. Avoidance of responsibility or trying to dodge the consequences of your behaviour will only make your situation worse.

Saturn encourages you to be realistic but that doesn’t mean you have to give up on your dreams. Saturn can give you a really hard time but if you work with him, he can also make your dreams come true – but only if they’re realistic! If you accept your limitations and work with them, Neptune will find a way to help you transcend them and create a new reality.

At best, you can awaken to a new perspective on reality that will allow you to make your dreams real by giving form to your imagination. You can accept responsibility (Saturn) for what you want to create (Neptune) and act to make it happen (Aries). By taking the initiative you can become who you always dreamed yourself to be.

You may also experience a new beginning in your spiritual life or a deepening of your faith, perhaps after a period of confusion or disillusionment. You can reconnect with the reality of your deepest Self and find new ways to express this reality in your day-to-day life, perhaps through service and compassionate action to help others.

Saturn Neptune conjunction in February 2026

This conjunction provides an opportunity to begin anything you have wanted to do for a while. If you’ve been planning to do something and haven’t got round to it yet or need a little extra courage – now is your chance!

When Saturn joins Neptune in Aries in May 2025 you may experience a moment of clarity or a call to action. But you may want to pause before jumping into anything too quickly. The real and not real will have become blurred so the best course of action may not be obvious. Use the time before the exact conjunction to explore your options and imagine possibilities and maybe try a few things to see how you feel about them.

Both planets go back into Pisces after their first close conjunction in July 2025 so anything you start before then might need to be revisited or changed in some way. The new beginning will come at the exact alignment in February 2026 once they’ve both settled into Aries.

On the other hand, don’t wait if your intuition guides you to take action earlier. Just be aware that things might get swampy again in the last quarter of 2025 and your confusion could return.

Knowing when to surrender and let go of something that isn’t working, or when to keep going with plans that appear uncertain is tricky even when you’re not in a Saturn Neptune transit. The only thing you can be sure of is the connection to your own deeper Self. If nothing else, this transit could teach you how to have faith that things will work out in the long run.

To get a sense of what may happen during this transit you might want to look back to the previous Saturn Neptune conjunction in 1989 to see what was happening in your life. There were three conjunctions that year at 10° and 11° Capricorn in March, June, and November. Uranus was also conjunct both Saturn and Neptune giving the transit extra energy which could have brought liberating and/or shocking changes and disruption to the Capricorn area of your chart.

For me this happened in my 11th house of friends and future aspirations. At the start of the transit I was working to earn money before going to college and writing songs with a friend which we recorded in a studio. This cemented my dream of becoming a sound engineer. By the end of the transit I had moved to the other end of the country to study music and was meeting new people and having my worldview turned upside down.

Overall it was a positive transit that allowed me to work slowly (Capricorn) towards making my aspirations (11th house) and dreams real (Saturn Neptune). However, the dream didn’t become real until much later when Saturn was in Aries! And it only happened then because I’d been working towards it for a long time.

So anything that you’ve been working hard to create could start bearing fruit during this conjunction and then while Saturn is in Aries. The new beginning will happen in the Aries part of your chart – here’s the basics of each house as a reminder:

  • 1st house – body and appearance, how you express yourself outwardly
  • 2nd house – money, finances, resources and values
  • 3rd house – thinking, communication, transport and local neighbourhood
  • 4th house – home and family, real estate and roots
  • 5th house – children and creativity, hobbies and romance
  • 6th house – health, daily routine and work
  • 7th house – relationships and one-to-one interactions
  • 8th house – shared resources, inheritance, use of power, and exploring mysteries
  • 9th house – belief system and meaning, travel and education
  • 10th house – vocation, career and status
  • 11th house – friends and groups, community, hopes and aspirations
  • 12th house – depth psychology and shadow work, karma and retreat

You may also be able to create a new beginning in any area that receives a direct transit from the Saturn Neptune conjunction. Any natal placements that are triggered by this transit could undergo powerful and long-lasting changes because the conjunction is at the midpoint of the mini triangle between Uranus and Pluto.

I’ve written a whole series on this triangle configuration but the first close alignment happens this summer during the Saturn Neptune conjunction. The triangle forms at 1° Aries, Gemini and Aquarius from 20th August to 14th September 2025. So if you have placements close to this degree you’ll have Saturn, Neptune, Uranus and Pluto all hitting that spot simultaneously.

This could turn out to be one of the most significant moments of your life! Change is coming. Get ready!

More on the mini triangle configuration and how to work with it here. We’ll be taking a deeper look at both Neptune in Aries and Saturn in Aries later. Catch up with all the Saturn Neptune posts here.

  1. Thanks for fantastic insights, Jessica! In considering these energies as distinct and related, I think the effect of the conjunction (or any other tie-up) on the native will depend on her/his awareness and experience of the two energies. Few people are, but of course we all feel them. To take myself as an example, I have Saturn in tight quintile to Neptune, and they both have tight biquintiles to Mercury, so I imagine that their conjunction will serve to energize me overall, although I don’t know (I never expect anything). However, let’s say that I had them square each other, so I would probably be uncomfortable with their energies, depending on other chart factors. In that case, their conjunction would probably challenge me. As it is, I’m looking forward to it.

    Thanks again!

  2. my mom has had Neptune and Saturn in her third house. Since Neptune has been there, she has gone full conspiracy theory mode and loves Elon and MAGA. Addicted to twitter and believes everything elon says. I hope the Saturn Neptune conjunction will jolt her, and the world, awake

  3. Hi,

What a great post, thank you! I have my Natal Sun Aries at 4 degrees… in the 12th so I’m expecting a wild ride! The conjunction of Neptune and Saturn is really interesting as it’s not happened in a loooooong time 12k years! Wow!

    Warmest regards,

    Matthew

  4. It would seem that completely detached unrealistic dreams and illusions have been more or less the order of the day since 2011 when Neptune entered Pisces, more and more as the transit went on. I don’t think we were helped by some of the other big transits either, aimless mass movements with a bizarre tint.

Overwhelming realisation of what’s been done and lost, as you wrote, will probably be the very unfortunate result for many. Avoidance of adult responsibility have been quite prevalent. This avoidance seems more common with people born under the influence of the Neptune-Uranus conjunction too, almost as if that made them more susceptible to the confusion of the last fourteen years.

Love the quote by Franz btw. Sure would have been interesting to get her and Jung’s thoughts on the period we are about to leave, and the one we are entering.
