This year Uranus will square the nodes in Pisces/Virgo just before they shift to the Aquarius/Leo axis. The exact square happens on 12th June 2026 when Uranus is at 2°42’ Gemini. But the transit fades in from 19th April when Uranus is still at the end of Taurus and fades out by 8th November when he’s in Gemini.

In Evolutionary Astrology Uranus represents your need to individuate and free yourself from the conditioning of your ego and the patterns of your past lives as shown by the nodes. The nodes represent your evolutionary potential, with the south node showing your past tendencies and talents, and the north node showing your potential future growth.
When planets square the nodes by transit it represents a crossroads where you need to choose whether to go forwards or backwards – towards the south node or the north node. Conflicts can arise between the past and the future, between what’s known and familiar vs what’s new and invites growth and evolution. You will need to increase your awareness in order to choose wisely and that choice may not be obvious.
During this transit Uranus triggers both sides of the nodal axis and this could bring disruption that relates to the past and/or the future. There could be sudden endings, beginnings, or changes in the direction of your life, and new ideas and breakthroughs that reveal surprising potentials that you could develop. You could also flipflop between options if you’re not sure of your direction.
With Uranus in Gemini the changes could come very fast as the speed of communication and ideas increases. Events may become more volatile and unpredictable, with sudden reversals, insights and revelations that force you to make decisions quickly. There could be a general increase in confusion, misdirection, lies, and theft, as well as shocking news and media meltdowns, trade issues, travel disruptions, and internet and social media snafus.
How this affects you depends on where Uranus and the nodes are transiting in your chart. You may experience losses in the area influenced by the south node or the need to let go of something before you can find the right path forward in the area influenced by the north node.
There may be karmic events related to the past that trigger changes in your life, especially if the nodes transit your natal placements directly. This could include internal shifts as well as external events or both. There may be karmic lessons that arise that encourage you to take an alternative or surprising approach.
You may need to find new ways to express your individuality in the houses where the nodes and Uranus are transiting, and in relation to any placements that are triggered. The house axis where the nodes are transiting shows where you’re being challenged to change and the house where Uranus is transiting may show how that change is brought about.

This transit offers the potential for revolutionary change in your life, if you choose to take it. Look for ways to free yourself from situations that have become oppressive or simply no longer work for you. And be prepared to try stuff you wouldn’t normally do. Unconventional approaches may be what you need in order to break free but also be careful not to deceive yourself about what you’re trying to achieve.
Find ways to reality check your ideas and plans or you could end up believing your own hype and chasing rainbows. Remember to draw on the positive discernment of the Virgo south node to keep your feet on the ground.
Your intuition may be intensified and you could receive many bolts from the blue offering inspiration. You could find surprising solutions to long-standing problems, or a problem could suddenly evaporate, or you realise it was never an issue to begin with. A radical new perspective may free you from something that was totally imaginary – an old fear that you can now release.
When breaking free of the past be careful not to leave behind positive stuff that you need to incorporate, such as relationships, jobs, living situations, skills, and so on. You need to find a balance between the gifts of the past and future possibilities. The future is built on the foundations that you created in the past. Some of those foundations may need to be reworked, dug up in places and changed, but don’t throw away the good stuff that works just for the sake of change.
This kind of problem may be more likely if you become too reactionary or extreme in your response to the challenge of change. The desire for freedom could make you reckless, or you could come into conflict with others who try to hold you back. The uncertainty could also make you more fearful and anxious, creating a tendency to grab hold of the first solution that comes along and that won’t necessarily work out for the best.
Too much attachment to past ways of doing things could create more conflict and keep you stuck and this could cause frustration. It could also trigger shocks that force you to change – shunting you onto your new path whether you like it or not.
Once the change happens though, it may seem obvious even if you never saw it coming. If you’re honest with yourself, you may realise that you had premonitions, dreams, or an intuitive sense that a big change was coming. So remember: the more you resist necessary change, the bigger the disruption is likely to be.

If this transit triggers your chart, you might feel so rebellious or restless that you can’t wait to make changes. You may need to force yourself to calm down and think things through before doing anything drastic. Try to look deeper into what needs to change before rushing in. It’s likely that you won’t know exactly what’s going on or what you’re getting yourself into so you may need to take a leap of faith.
The best way to handle the extra energy coming from Uranus is to stay grounded in your body and breathe. Relax as much as you can and listen to your inner voice and intuition for clues to what you need to do. That might involve going against the obvious or common-sense approach and doing something unusual or unexpected, something you would never normally do. It might also involve saying no or standing your ground and refusing to compromise on something meaningful to you.
Whatever you choose to do, the path forward into the future must be authentic for you – an expression of what your soul needs in order to keep growing. If you’re on the right path already you might just receive some kind of vindication or a wink and a nod from the universe that tells you to keep going.
Context is everything so what happens will depend on what else is going on in your life and the other transits that you’re experiencing. If the nodes and Uranus aren’t making any connections to your chart during this time, then you’ll probably sail through without much happening. But if the nodes and Uranus are triggering your chart, brace yourself for an interesting time.
For example, this transit coincides with my nodal return. My north node is at 2°50’ Pisces so this transit is pretty much exactly on my nodes with Uranus square the nodes and my natal nodes at the same time. I’m not sure what to expect! I might write something about it later…

I love the Natal Nodes — the quickest and easiest way to give someone pointers of what they need to let go of and what to embody in this lifetime in order to get with ‘the plan’ ..
I look forward to hearing how it affects your life ! This will be good reading I expect ! I’d guess your nodal return will check whether you have been aligning w the north node : letting go of stress n anxiety about life/ the future: trying to logic and control where it can go VS. an approach of handing it over to the Universe ( Letting go and letting ‘God’ ) – knowing it will bring you something Divinely sublime. Yr Nodes probably want you to be living a Spiritual life — just delighting in doing what you Love and knowing it will work out great? ! Nice trick if you can do it ! And may you be able to
