When Neptune transits natal Jupiter your need for transcendence and imagination influences your need for self-improvement and deeper meaning in life. Neptune inspires new dreams and dissolves old structures and represents your need to spiritualise and refine this area of your life.

When Neptune transits natal Jupiter you may experience inspiration and confusion with your beliefs about reality and how you find meaning in your life, as well as your desire to improve yourself and expand your horizons. Neptune increases your idealism and hope for the future and you may feel more open to inspiration, with a desire to believe in something uplifting.
This transit represents an opportunity to improve your life and you may be inspired to try something new. You could meet people who open your mind to a wider perspective and may feel a greater sense of belonging and connection with humanity as your boundaries dissolve. This also increases your compassion and sense of faith in the future, making you feel optimistic and expansive.
You may want to study subjects that broaden your mind, such as spirituality, religion, philosophy, metaphysics, or political systems, or anything that you believe will bring you redemption or greater meaning. It could also be a good time to travel and you may have experiences that deepen your understanding of yourself and others while learning about different cultures.
Hard aspects to Jupiter (conjunction, square and opposition) could be more challenging, although conjunctions depend on how well your natal Jupiter is placed in your chart.
You could be misled or deceived by a new belief system or religion or fall for a charismatic teacher who exploits your trust. You may believe you’ve found the answer to everything and become fanatical and go to extremes. You could be determined to preach to anyone who will listen and even those who would rather not, forcing your ideas onto others.
You may need to make sacrifices in relation to your beliefs, such as giving up an old identity or your attachments to worldly goods. Or disillusionment could lead you to give up your religion or belief system or leave a spiritual group that you’ve been involved with. You may lose your faith and feel lost until you can find a path that works for you.
Your judgement could become distorted by fantasies and you may have an unrealistic sense of what you’re capable of doing which gets you into trouble. You could overextend yourself with misplaced faith, overindulge in drugs and alcohol, or take risks with money you don’t have, leaving you out on a limb when the transit ends.
There could also be trouble while travelling and you could get lost or robbed or lose your luggage or the travel arrangements could go awry. You may want to escape from difficulties at home by going on holiday only to end up in a worse situation abroad. Or you could plan a dream holiday that turns out to be less than perfect leaving you disappointed.
Whatever happens, try not to be too idealistic and remember to test your ideas against reality before launching into anything. Run your ideas and plans past somebody you trust who has their feet on the ground. And be especially careful with your finances and investments and don’t gamble with what you can’t afford to lose.

My Notes:
Neptune transited sextile my natal Jupiter in 1985, from age 14 to 15, when Neptune was in Capricorn in my 11th house. This coincided with when I was at high school and doing lots of music and playing in various orchestras and music groups.
During the summer holiday I travelled to Belgium and Holland on tour with the Brighton Junior Youth Orchestra. We were only in Amsterdam for a few days and had several concerts planned. But they were all outdoors and it rained the entire time we were there so all the concerts were cancelled.
So there were about 80 kids carousing around town, drinking and getting up to mischief. I spent one evening in a pub playing darts and only managed to hit the dartboard once, while the poor resident cat fled for its life! 🙀 We also had a trip on one of the boats that cruise the river but the miserable weather made the windows steam up and we couldn’t see a thing!
Neptune transited square my natal Jupiter in 1998-99, from age 27 to 28, when Neptune was in Aquarius in my 12th house. This coincided with when I was working part-time in crappy office admin jobs while doing the occasional session at a recording studio. It wasn’t a particularly positive time as I felt frustrated at work, but I did move in with my then boyfriend which was an improvement on my living situation at the time.
Neptune transited trine my natal Jupiter in 2012-13, from age 41 to 43, when Neptune was in Pisces in my 1st house and also conjunct my north node at the same time. This coincided with the period just after I’d been made redundant in 2011 and was looking for work while writing my first novel, Addled.
A few months into this transit the psychotic neighbour who’d been threatening to kill me finally moved out. This allowed me to relax so my inflammatory bowel disease started to heal. I was also getting encouraging feedback on my book and feeling hopeful about the future. I gave up trying to find a job and decided to go self-employed as a freelance writer – perhaps a delusion but it made sense at the time. By the end of the transit I published my first book.
