Saturn Transits: 10th House

When Saturn transits the 10th house the need for security and achievement influences your career, vocation, sense of responsibility and the structure of your life. The beliefs, wisdom and philosophy that you developed while Saturn was in the 9th will now be tested against reality. This is a call to adventure and what happens depends on your age, status, and what you hope to achieve.

When Saturn crosses the Midheaven and enters the 10th house you’re challenged to prove yourself and discover what success means to you. Saturn focuses your attention on your ambitions, your role in society, how much authority you have or would like, and the work structure you’re using to attain your goals.

You might gain recognition for your work and achieve your long-term career goals now. But it can also be a time of frustration and anxiety and you may feel weighed down with duties and obligations even if things are going well. If so, it may be a sign that your career or vocation is too limiting or not realistic in terms of your true nature. You may have to work harder to define exactly what you want to do and what your ambitions mean to you.

This is a testing time and even when things go well, you’ll be aware of the possibility of failure. You’re taking a leap of faith into the unknown and the results will be unpredictable. But whatever happens, you can gain a more detached perspective on what you’ve really achieved, rather than what you dream of achieving or what others think of you.

You may feel insecure and unsure of yourself as you try to find the right path but it’s best to approach this with a sense of adventure and openness to the future. If you refuse the call, you could get stuck in a life that feels too restrictive. Stay flexible and open to possibilities and don’t allow yourself to become too rigid or controlling in your bid for world domination.

This transit is about rising to the challenge of becoming yourself and finding a place where you belong in the world. If you avoid the responsibility, Saturn may trigger a confrontation with the shadow, and whatever is hiding in your unconscious will come up and demand to be dealt with. This could mean a fall from grace and a loss of power in the world. But if you’ve been true to yourself, you should experience the positive side of this transit.

Possibilities with Saturn transiting the 10th:
  • Achievement of long-terms goals
  • Leadership
  • Increasing self-knowledge and personal power
  • Making an impression on others
  • Re-evaluating success
Watch out for:
  • Taking on too much responsibility in the wrong area
  • Waylaid by duty and obligation
  • Haunted by past failures or weaknesses
  • Giving up too easily

This is the perfect time to find out what you’re made of and gain insight into your real motives for success or power. You can face your fears of failure, loss, abandonment, and change, and overcome them to take your place in the world.

Although this transit often represents a peak of achievement in the outer world, it can also be a time when you reach a deeper understanding of yourself. You can achieve a lot now, but it won’t mean much if you’re not true to yourself in the process. Regardless what happens in the outer world, this can be a time of real inner growth and increasing wholeness as you work on confronting your shadow and integrating the opposites within yourself.

  1. Wowwwwwwwww. True just true. I was on the top in my company but still I couldn’t accept that as success. So I moved out and started doing what I really liked but that is not accepted by anyone around me. So as a result, according to everyone I lost everything and according to me at least I tried what I really want.
