In the Preview of 2024 post I promised more information about the exciting outer planet configuration that we have over the next few years. As Pluto enters Aquarius, Neptune enters Aries, and Uranus enters Gemini they form a mini triangle with each other with Pluto trine Uranus and Neptune sextile both from the middle. This is a big deal and I’ll have more to say about that later, but this post introduces the configuration with an overview…

This outer planet triangle is formed from three interlocking transits: the Neptune Pluto sextile, the Uranus Neptune sextile, and the Uranus Pluto trine. These alignments have been moving in and out of orb over the last few years and are finally starting to settle into the triangle pattern that will stay put for several years – using an 8-degree orb for the trine and a 6-degree orb for the sextiles.

The Neptune Pluto sextile has been in orb for ages and stays until August 2035 and represents a period of transformation of religion and our beliefs about reality and how that influences the way we structure society. The first exact aspect of this alignment happens in July 2026 but they’ll be exact by degree in 2025. You can read more about that here.

The Uranus Neptune sextile represents a period of cultural renaissance and transformation of the visions and ideals that underpin society and the first exact alignment is in August 2025. More on that here. The Uranus Pluto trine represents a period of revolutionary cultural and technological change that transforms society. The first exact alignment is in July 2026 but they’ll be exact by degree in 2025. More on that here.

When you put these transits together you get something pretty special because these alignments are rare. The outer planets often team up in patterns but don’t always form triangles and the configurations don’t usually last as long as the current one.

This particular configuration is called a Minor Grand Trine which is a stupid name because it’s not a trine! It’s also called a ‘lesser triangle’ or a ‘small talent triangle’ as both Grand Trines and Minor Grand Trines are known as Talent Triangles. These lesser or mini triangles can be made up from a variety of aspects, such as a trine and two sextiles, a sextile with two semi-sextiles, or a square with two semi-squares, and so on.

The current mini triangle is made from a trine and two sextiles which offers potential talents, abilities and skills that can be developed by using the energy of the sextiles to activate the trine. On its own it may be too passive so the configuration may need to be prodded into action by hard angle transits to Uranus, Neptune or Pluto.

This happens when Saturn moves to conjunct Neptune in 2025–26 and plugs into the mini triangle forming sextiles to both Uranus and Pluto, like this:

This is the first mini triangle that’s exact by degree at 1 degree of Aquarius, Aries and Gemini, while Saturn is close to Neptune at 0° Aries. There’ll be another two exact by degree triangles at 4 degrees in 2026 and then at 6 degrees in 2027.

The mini triangle first formed in August 2022 when Uranus moved into orb to sextile Neptune and trine Pluto, although they slipped out of orb again later that year and reformed again in July 2023. The Uranus Pluto trine fades out of orb at the end of November 2023 and the Uranus Neptune sextile fades out in January 2024.

But they both return in May 2024 when the triangle reforms and it stays until January 2025 when the Uranus Pluto trine fades out again. It returns in April 2025 along with the Saturn Neptune conjunction sextile both Uranus and Pluto. After this, the triangle remains in orb until 2027 and then the individual aspects begin fading in and out of orb from 2028 onwards.

Here are the dates for the exact by degree mini triangles:

• First triangle at 1 degree from 20th August to 14th September 2025
• Second triangle at 4 degrees from 7th to 31st July 2026
• Third triangle at 6 degrees from 5th to 17th June 2027

Only the first mini triangle includes the Saturn Neptune conjunction in August 2025. By the second triangle in July 2026, Saturn has moved away from Neptune having completed his conjunction in February that year. But this alignment also includes a Cradle configuration with Jupiter in Leo opposite Pluto (also known as the Barbault Basket), like this:

The third triangle in June 2027 sees Saturn marching towards the end of Aries and getting ready to enter Taurus in 2028 (when he runs into a square with Pluto while conjunct Chiron):

This mini triangle configuration is also called a transiting midpoint which is something that happens two or three times each century, so they’re quite rare. They usually have either Uranus or Pluto at the midpoint between the other two planets, while Neptune midpoints happen only once every 500 years.

The last time Neptune was at the midpoint was in 1504! 🤯

The current midpoint configuration also lasts longer than usual at almost a whole decade. They usually only last for three years or so. As we’ve seen, the closest alignment of the mini triangle runs from 2025–27 but it’s in orb, on and off, from 2022 to 2029 with the Saturn Neptune conjunction in the middle in 2025–26.

I can’t state how momentous this is! But let’s have a go…

Midpoint configurations mark a turning point or watershed moment of change in how we relate to reality. This decade will see the birth of a new zeitgeist and a massive shift in perspective which will influence how we see ourselves and organise civilisation and culture. It’s a moment of great potential but also challenge and crisis as the old order is swept away.

And it’s not just the mini triangle configuration that points to this pivotal moment of change. It’s also happening at the start of several other cycles. The first is the 200-year air cycle of Jupiter Saturn conjunctions which began in 2020 marking a major turning point in the structure of society as the old earth empires fail and fall apart. More on that here.

Then we have the outer planets themselves who are all near the start of their cycles with each other in the waxing phase following their opening conjunctions:

• The Neptune Pluto cycle began in 1891–92 and has now reached the first sextile
• The Uranus Pluto cycle began in 1965–66 and has now reached the first trine
• The Uranus Neptune cycle began in 1993 and has now reached the first sextile

Oh, and the mini triangle is forming just as the outer planets all change signs together, shifting from ‘feminine’ (earth and water) to ‘masculine’ (air and fire) signs.

Oh, and the Saturn Neptune conjunction at the apex of the triangle happens at 0° Aries, the vernal equinox and start of the zodiac, marking a new beginning and a powerful moment of change that will affect the whole world.

So that’s it – the old world is over. It’s finished. We’ve reached the end of the age of ‘Western’ hegemonic conquest and colonisation and the materialist reductionist worldview of scientism. The entire system will be overturned and transformed in the next decade and beyond.

Obviously, the importance of this time doesn’t automatically translate into Good Things Happening. How it plays out will depend on whether humanity is capable of overcoming its various issues and stops throwing rocks at each other. And that means every individual needs to change.

The mini triangle will encourage everyone along this new path but many will resist. So your experience over the next few years depends on whether you can work with these energies on a conscious level in your own life. It also depends on where this mini triangle falls in your chart.
