Jupiter enters Leo on 30th June 2026 and stays there for about a year until 26th July 2027 when he goes into Virgo. This takes us from expansion and growth through nurturing emotional connections with others in Cancer to putting more energy into exploring your own passions and creative desires. That means it’s time to shine! 😎

When Jupiter is in Leo you can expand your life by putting more energy into Leonian areas, such as children, romance, self-expression and creativity, hobbies, having fun and exploring your passions – anything that makes you feel more alive and joyful. It’s a good time to think big and believe in yourself because this will open you to more opportunities to grow and improve your life.
Jupiter in Leo increases your self-confidence and courage and this encourages you to follow your dreams, develop your talents and invest in a new improved version of yourself. You may discover new hobbies that make you feel more alive and playful, or want to spend more time with your children having fun and getting back in touch with your inner child.
You could also get involved with creativity and the performing arts, expressing yourself through drama, theatre, storytelling and entertainment, whether professionally or for fun. Or you may just want to spend more time enjoying good music, theatre and film, as long as it leaves you feeling uplifted and optimistic about life. It could also be a good time for a party, although you may be tempted to spend too much or be too extravagant in your enjoyment.
Jupiter expands easily in Leo and this isn’t always a good thing. Leo needs an audience and Jupiter could exaggerate that desire, especially if you’re already struggling with low self-esteem or narcissistic tendencies. Some may become more self-righteous and boastful, with a tendency to exaggerate for dramatic effect during this transit.
Being true to yourself could backfire if you become too egotistical and arrogant and it may create dramas as others won’t necessarily accept you as you are. You could become demanding and petulant if you don’t get your way, especially if you feel disrespected or overlooked. You may try to force others to do your bidding, like an overgrown toddler on a power trip.
When feeling insecure Leo can become pompous, bossy and bombastic, drawing attention to himself in a way that dominates and bulldozes over others. But whether you have a problem with this depends on what you’re normally like and how Jupiter interacts with your chart. We’re not all going to turn into obnoxious self-aggrandising babies in the coming year!
Absolutely Fabulous is a perfect example of an out-of-control Jupiter in Leo!
Another danger to watch for will be a desire to indulge yourself without limits. You may feel more abundant and positive about the future and this could encourage you to overspend or overextend yourself. You may spend too much on things that make you feel good, or allow your generosity to go overboard by splashing out on your friends or giving to charity when you can’t really afford it.
You can find ways to treat yourself and those you love without bankrupting yourself by exercising a little restraint and self-awareness. Jupiter may actually help with this when he conjuncts the south node in Leo later this year and into 2027. This transit may help to offset some of the potential selfishness by encouraging you to let go of the shadow side of Leo and embrace the noble side.
The noble side of Leo is warm, generous and magnanimous and, at best, Jupiter here encourages you to embrace the positive aspects of your inner king or queen. Just try not to overdo it. Remember that the true light comes from the Spirit (the divine) and isn’t strictly yours in the egotistical sense. You possess the light so that you can share it – not just draw attention to yourself and say “Look at me!!!!!!”
Real joy and happiness comes from within, not from being worshipped and admired by others, or from buying stuff to make yourself look good on the surface. It’s possible to live in a luxurious palace and still be miserable.

At best, you can use this transit to develop genuine self-confidence and authenticity by practising gratitude for your creative gifts while remaining humble. This creates a virtuous feedback loop that enhances your life and inspires and empowers others by leading by example.
You may want to explore what makes you truly happy and what it really means to be you without needing an audience. You can learn to shine without the desire to be seen and allow yourself to express the gifts you have, whether large or small. Despite what Jupiter may claim – size doesn’t matter!
Now is the time to be bold and open your heart to life and share your light and joy with others – just don’t expect applause, although you may receive it. Being true to yourself and expressing your gifts with an open heart attracts abundance and you may be surprised by what you can achieve if you’re willing to believe in yourself.
You can explore new ways to make your dreams come true and this may work best if you don’t take yourself too seriously. The goodness and abundance of life tends to flow when you’re being playful and doing things for fun, just to see what happens, not because you’re trying really hard to achieve something big and important.
Life works best when you play like a child. If you forget to do this, you may be overcome by the ravenous ego, as in my favourite limerick:
There was an old lady of Liger
Who went for a ride on a tiger
They came back from the ride
With the lady inside
And a smile on the face of the tiger
Jupiter in Leo provides an opportunity to get to know yourself better and express that self-knowledge in creative and fun ways. How deep you go with this is up to you. You can stay on the surface and indulge your ego, or go deeper to explore how your soul and spirit want to express themselves through your unique life. You can align your identity with your soul and make progress on the path of individuation to become more whole.
Doing this is supported by Saturn in Aries, especially during the Jupiter Saturn trine which is exact at the end of August 2026 and again in 2027. Both Jupiter in Leo and Saturn in Aries encourage you to recognise and share your unique gifts – you just need to remember to recognise the gifts of others and allow them to be themselves too!
To get a feel for how Jupiter in Leo may work, you can look back to what happened during previous transits. The last three times were from:
- 17th July 2014 to 11th August 2015
- 2nd August 2002 to 27th August 2003
- 19th August 1990 to 12th September 1991
This transit will express itself through the Leo house in your chart – explore the possibilities here.
