June begins in Gemini season when we gather information and knowledge and share what we find with others, explore ideas and possibilities, try stuff out, and increase our awareness of duality and differences – a restless energy that always has something interesting to say or do. More on the meaning of Gemini here: Gemini Myths

The planets are starting to spread out now as the earlier stelliums break up and move apart. June begins with the Sun and Mercury in Gemini, Mars in Taurus, and Venus in Cancer with Jupiter. Mercury enters Cancer on the first day and Venus enters Leo mid-month. Chiron enters Taurus the day before the solstice and Mars enters Gemini at the end of the month, just before Mercury stations retrograde. June ends with Jupiter entering Leo.
The Venus Jupiter conjunction fades in from the start of the month and becomes exact on 9th June, fading out by mid-month. This is a great time for a party or for taking care of those you love, pampering yourself and relaxing and generally enjoying life. You may want to watch out for overindulgence, especially in food and spending, but make the most of this supportive energy while it lasts.
The New Moon in Gemini on 15th June is sextile Chiron and highlights the need for communication and connection. You may feel restless and sociable, while Mercury in Cancer adds an emotional or even irrational edge to your thinking, although the square from Saturn helps to keep you grounded in reality. Mercury has now entered retrograde shadow so you may need to rethink anything you start or plan over the coming weeks by the end of the month.

Venus has also entered Leo by this point and is opposite Pluto. This may intensify your feelings and relationships and could bring extreme emotions and power struggles if you’ve been keeping yourself too repressed. But this is also an opportunity to go deeper with your feelings and explore the real meaning of your relationships.
As the other planets reach the end of Cancer over the coming weeks and into July, they’ll also oppose Pluto as they enter Leo. So if this is a trigger point for your chart you may notice an increase in intensity in this area of your life.
The Jupiter Pluto opposition starts to build the day after the New Moon and forms a T-square with Chiron and triggers the mini triangle with Uranus and Neptune. This aspect doesn’t become exact until July but you can tap into this energy to make profound transformative changes to your life and empower yourself by letting go of anything that no longer works.
Chiron enters Taurus on 19th June while square Pluto. This provides an opportunity to heal this area of your life, especially any issues you have with money, security, self-worth and your relationship to your body and its needs. On 21st June the Sun enters Cancer at the solstice while square the Virgo Moon and Neptune, and sextile Chiron. This highlights your need for nurturing, reinforced by the optimistic and hopeful Mercury Jupiter conjunction in Cancer. A good time to open to inspiration and find spiritual and emotional strength by reconnecting with family and your roots.

The Mars Uranus conjunction starts to fade in the following day, increasing the possibility of extreme disruption that peaks at the start of July. This transit may increase your energy and feelings of restlessness and there could be unexpected events, surprising detours, and new possibilities and ideas that come out of nowhere. Find something constructive to channel this energy into or it could come out sideways as accidents or stupid arguments and fights.
Both Mars and Uranus are square the nodes so any events that happen could be karmic in nature. You have the potential to free yourself from the past and make a decisive move to create the life you want. Feelings of restlessness and difficulty concentrating may increase once Mars enters Gemini on 28th June.
On 29th June Mercury stations retrograde in Cancer while conjunct Jupiter and sextile Mars. This is when your mind slows down and turns inwards so you can rethink how you relate to the Cancer area of your life. Jupiter should help to keep your thinking buoyant and positive but you may need to watch for overconfidence or boastful arrogance, especially if you’re prone to having a big gob already!
Mercury will go direct again in late July. You can make the most of this time by using the Mercury Retrograde Workbook available here! This is a comprehensive guide to working with Mercury retrograde transits that includes worksheets to track your experience. Click the image to find out more!
On 30th June the Full Moon in Capricorn is in a T-square with Saturn and Neptune, and the Moon also trines Chiron. This lunation continues the emphasis on your home and family and nurturing and introduces a conflict with your need to create security through hard work and responsibility. Saturn helps to keep things steady as the Mars Uranus conjunction creeps closer.

A few hours later Jupiter enters Leo and expands your desire to be true to yourself. This transit will encourage you to grab life with both hands and make positive changes so that you can be more authentic – and have more fun! More details on Jupiter in Leo coming soon.
