Everybody Worships

“In the day-to-day trenches of adult life, there is actually no such thing as atheism. There is no such thing as not worshipping. Everybody worships. The only choice we get is what to worship. And an outstanding reason for choosing some sort of God or spiritual-type thing to worship — be it J.C. or Allah,… Continue reading Everybody Worships

Don’t Believe Everything You Read

Here’s a timely reminder to not get caught up in the propaganda free-for-all that seems to have replaced online and broadcast news media. Truth is never an easy thing to discern, and even harder to act on sometimes. But there is a way. The Kalama Sutra – you’ll have seen it all over the internet… Continue reading Don’t Believe Everything You Read

Assassin’s Creed: a film confused by its Gnostic roots

16/01/201724/02/2022 Jessica Davidson4 Comments

Part of my occasional series on mystical and gnostic themes in Film & TV. The film adaptation of the Ubisoft game Assassin’s Creed had some intriguing possibilities in its mythology so I checked it out. There’s a lot of hoo-ha around the problem of video games making bad movies and many people were optimistic about this… Continue reading Assassin’s Creed: a film confused by its Gnostic roots

Astrological Cycles and the Collective: 2017 – 2024

To get our heads around current events we need to understand how the collective mass of humanity changes over time. And that means plunging into the depths of the collective unconscious. The collective unconscious is the atmosphere in which we move. But like fish swimming in the ocean who don’t understand the nature of water,… Continue reading Astrological Cycles and the Collective: 2017 – 2024

The Astrology of 2017

We have an interesting year ahead of us – it could feel highly energising and positive, but we’ll have to remember to keep our feet on the ground. The upheavals we’ve seen in the last few years will continue so we need to get our heads around what’s going on – archetypally speaking – then… Continue reading The Astrology of 2017

I kept trying to write this post but didn’t know what to say. How do you follow a year like 2016? What a mess! This upheaval has been a long time coming – there’s nothing strange or unexpected about it. If you understand how reality works, it all makes perfect sense. (Honest!) People are freaking… Continue reading 2017: The Year of Writing Better Stories

The Pressure to Break Free

From a certain perspective it looks like the world is going mad, but perhaps there’s something else going on. This is what happens when our true nature is subverted. We’re socialised into being less than who we really are, but deep in the shadows, the soul fights to break free, and when it finally does,… Continue reading The Pressure to Break Free

A Brief History of Astrology

21/11/201606/02/2025 Jessica Davidson2 Comments

Nobody knows when astrology first started, although the study of the stars and cycles of time goes back into prehistory. The first lunar calendar, which was etched into a bone, dates to 32,000 BCE. And there are cave paintings at Lascaux that date to around 17,000 BCE which some say depict the earliest constellations, although… Continue reading A Brief History of Astrology
