Saturn Transits to Venus

When Saturn transits natal Venus the need for security and achievement influences your values and relationships. Saturn represents the structures and limitations of your life, and what you need to do in order to be true to yourself and build the life you want.

When Saturn transits natal Venus, it encourages you to assess your values and relationships to see if you’re getting what you want and need out of life. The conjunction, square, and opposition tend to coincide with times when your relationships go through tests and challenges, and you might not feel very good about yourself either.

These transits make you more aware of your needs for love and relationship, usually by denying them. You may want greater intimacy and closeness but aren’t getting what you need, or you feel unable to connect with anyone which makes you feel lonely and isolated.

Whatever happens, these transits are about getting a clearer sense of what you really need in relationships and what love means to you. It’s time to be realistic and stop chasing the perfect relationship that will make you feel better about yourself. True self-worth comes from within, and if a relationship doesn’t allow you to be true to yourself then it’ll probably end during a hard angle transit.

There may also be health problems, such as hormonal imbalances, issues around sexual health, and generally not feeling well. Or you could struggle with weight problems, eating disorders, or issues with feelings of attractiveness and aging. This gives you the opportunity to assess your self-worth and look more closely at what you value about yourself and life.

Your finances and spending power may be reduced, and you might have to manage with less for a while. This forces you to conserve what you have and to stop wasting time and money on things that are frivolous or unnecessary.

You may also spend time getting organised and working towards career goals, especially if your relationships aren’t going well. Saturn can help to bring discipline and focus, especially to creative work, so now is a good time to bring your creative projects into form. It may be more of a struggle with the hard angles, but if you’re willing to work hard you can achieve a lot.

Possibilities with Saturn transiting Venus:
  • Marriage or committing to a relationship
  • Break up of a relationship
  • Working hard on creative projects
  • Redecorating your home
  • Consolidating your finances
Watch out for:
  • Low self-esteem and lack of self-worth
  • Health problems
  • Difficulties with money and finances

Saturn helps you to focus and channel your emotional power more effectively into relationships and/or creative projects. All relationships will undergo testing and trials during this time, but only the ones that don’t work well enough will end. See this as an opportunity to discover what you really need. If a relationship ends it’s because you’re ready to move on and change the way you relate to others. These transits also indicate marriage and the development of long-lasting relationships that have a solid grounding in love and mutual respect.

  1. Hello, Jessica!

(Pisces Sun and Venus; Gemini Rising; Caprocorn Moon; Saturn is exactly conjunct my Venus today, and will be, I think, there until Jan 2024.)

I read your writings a lot. Lately, it’s been your current writings. But I met you as an astrologer. (I know you say you are not.) And I thought your astrological analyses the best I know. I still do. But I must tell you about something, re this:

‘It’s time to be realistic and stop chasing after the perfect fantasy relationship.’

I laughed out loud, with delight. That happened because I have been doing this for 5 years at least. I’ve become so good at it, that I get to know my fantasy lover very well. His company is delightful. He always lifts me out of my doldrums, and alters my real-life mood and self-image wonderfully. You know, I don’t think I can do without him. :)

    1. Hi Nadine. I wouldn’t predict anything in particular but you can be sure that the relationship will be tested. It’s a square transit so that tends to increase the internal tension. You’ll need to look deeply into what you really want, not just from this relationship but from relationships in general. What do you really value and does this relationship give you what you need? If it does, then the transit could help to strengthen the bond between you. Don’t assume the worst!

  3. My Natal Venus is in Capricorn 4th hs (which is trine Natal Saturn in Virgo 12th hs). What could Saturn transit over my venus bring me? Marriage, finally??

Will I feel it right when Saturn enters Capricorn (I’m 13 degree venus in Cap) or in about 2 yr at its final pass? Thanks!

    1. Hi Sonia – you’re likely to feel it when Saturn gets within about 5 degrees of your Venus or if it transits another planet that aspects your Venus.

I wouldn’t make any specific predictions or hope for anything in particular. Marriage could be a possibility, if you’re already in a long-standing relationship. Or Saturn could bring somebody into your life – maybe someone older or with a Saturnian feel to them. If you want to get married and are planning to, then during this transit might be a good time.

Or the transit could indicate a time to spend more on your home or invest in real estate. Have a look at the Saturn transits in the 4th house post too: https://jessicadavidson.co.uk/2017/04/20/saturn-transits-4th-house/

      1. Hello. I just purchased the saturn transit workbook. Saturn is currently a degree away from my venus. Turns out my father passed about 30 minutes to an hour prior to the purchase I made. Makes sense seeing my sun is in Taurus being ruled by venus. I was curious about how the transit would manifest.
